Warfarin Voluntary Recall

warfarin recall | maher law firm | frank eidsonWarfarin is a medication used to help with complications associated with cardiac valve replacement and reduction in the risk of stroke and death

Zydus Pharmaceuticals USA Inc., the manufacturers of Warfarin, is voluntarily recalling lot #MM5767 of Warfarin 2mg tablets. The tablets were found to be oversized. If a patient ingests a larger amount of Warfarin than recommended, the patient is more likely to develop bleeding as an adverse reaction and in some patients that bleeding could be fatal. The risk of bleeding into the critical organs (mostly the central nervous system) is increased if overdosing is repeated continuously on a daily basis.

The recalled Warfarin was distributed nationwide in the United States from November 2012 to December 2012. It can be identified by its NDC#6838205310. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommend, patients experiencing any problems related to taking or using this particular lot of Warfarin 2mg Tablets, should contact their physician or healthcare provider. Anyone who currently has Warfarin Lot #MM5767 should stop using the product, and phone INMAR at 1-800-967-5952.
