Date Set for Yaz Trial

The first trial concerning the side effects of Yaz/Yasmin birth control has been pushed back from September 2011 to January 2012. Judge David R. Herndon announced that the first bellwether trial in the multi-district litigation would be concern pulmonary embolism, or blood clot in the lung.  The later date is needed due to the size and scope of these issues. There are over 6000 Yaz related lawsuits pending; the volume and complexity of discovery that needs to be completed merits the extra time.  In the meantime more and more women are coming forward with stories of Yaz side effects, including blood clots or deep vein thrombosis, gallbladder issues, and stroke. Some young women have even died after taking Yaz birth control.
